that tree is older than me
when i entered this world
it was already here
as i journeyed through life
discovering Gita and Qur’an in my teens
it was here
waiting
and now here i am
privileged to gaze upon its beauty and majesty
for God has made this tree
and this poem was written by a fool like me
will it still be here
standing watch
as I exit this life
and begin a new journey
into realms of its Creator’s design
only One knows
and I simply say thank You
for this brief moment
when our paths have crossed
